The COVID-19 pandemic appears to have had little influence on the surveyed migrants’ intentions to remain in Switzerland, as 94% of the questioned indicated that the pandemic had no impact on their plans to stay in the country.

Notably, among those affected by the pandemic’s impact on their plans to stay, a slight difference (of 5%) was observed between individuals residing in Switzerland for a shorter duration (0-4 years) compared to those who had already spent 5 to 10 years in the country.

Additionally, among the individuals who reported having experienced a negative impact, the older age group (40 to 64 years) experienced a lesser impact (5%) in contrast to the younger age group (24 to 40 years) (8%).

How did foreign residents feel about living in Switzerland during the pandemic?
