Marino

Doctoral student

Anna Marino holds a BA in linguistics and translation from Scuola Civica Interpreti e Traduttori Altiero Spinelli and an interdisciplinary MA in European Studies from Maastricht University. She has experience as junior lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Maastricht University, where she taught courses ranging from history, EU governance, and social sciences to comparative politics and international relations. She holds a Certificate of training in European Migration and Asylum Law issued by the Odysseus Academic Network for Legal Studies on Immigration and Asylum in Europe. Her MA research focused primarily on migration narratives and policies at the EU and Member State levels. Her interest focuses on investigating narratives of migration and mobility to potentially help better understand aspects of the specific actors’ migration policies. She believes that analysing the impact of these narratives on societies can guide towards a deeper understanding of those societies, both in themselves and in their changing relation to the wider world. She is part of the project ‘Narratives of Crisis and Their Influence in Shaping Discourses and Policies of Migration and Mobility’.
