Support for Female Researchers

To improve women’s representation at the higher levels of the academic hierarchy, the nccr – on the move encourages female researchers, especially doctoral students and PostDocs, to participate in women’s career promotion programs.

The nccr – on the move also organizes targeted workshops and trainings and offers individual support and counseling.

The nccr – on the move Peer-Mentoring Group meets regularly and organizes activities aimed to improve women’s career prospects.

Resources

  • The website Réseau romand de mentoring pour femmes provides information on support in French-speaking Switzerland
  • The REGARD program offers workshops for young female academics and for women professors of the universities of French-speaking Switzerland. Its aim is to develop competences and to propose concrete tools for career management and supervision.
  • The transversal program CUSO is intended for female and male doctoral candidates enrolled in any of the CUSO doctoral programs. It offers a diverse range of workshops to help them develop transferable skills.
  • The PRIMA awards are aimed at excellent female researchers from Switzerland and abroad who aspire to a professorship in Switzerland. PRIMA grantees lead their own research project at a Swiss higher education institution.
  • Most Swiss higher education institutions offer programs aimed to encourage female researchers’ careers. Check your institution’s Equal Opportunities Office (links on the right side)
