Institutional Anchoring
The nccr – on the move promotes and celebrates diversity. Our NCCR community wants to provide a working environment that is free of discrimination and of sexual or personal harassment of any kind. In particular, it ensures that:
- NCCR members involved in a recruitment procedure are informed about our Equal Opportunities policy and implement it. The NCCR community is informed about conscious bias and ways of preventing it.
- A gender-neutral language is favored in the nccr – on the move publications
- In case of problems with regard to discrimination or sexual/personal harassment, fellows get support by the competent unit. The Equal Opportunities Officer will direct the fellows to the persons who are responsible for Equal Opportunities and/or conflict mediation in their home institutions.
The nccr – on the move provides support in the form of instruments and platforms to improve the chances of researchers who face unequal opportunities as a consequence of their gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, biological age, etc. These instruments are addressed to the training of leadership and communication skills and the participation in career promotion programs.
The nccr – on the move wants to contribute to the improvement of women’s representation at the higher levels of the academic hierarchy. Female researchers, especially doctoral students and PostDocs, are encouraged to participate in women’s career promotion programs. The nccr – on the move Peer-Mentoring Group meets regularly and organizes activities aimed to improve women’s career prospects.
