- Ambizione, aimed at young researchers who want to lead an independent project in a Swiss institution for higher education
- PRIMA, aimed at excellent female researchers who want to achieve the professor status in Switzerland
It also guides them with regards to other instruments, for example within the European Research and Innovation Program.
Educational Activities Supported by the NCCR
The nccr – on the move sponsors other educationally relevant activities in the field of migration and mobility studies, such as the Young Policy Network on Migration (YPNM), organized by the Swiss Forum for Migration Studies (SFM) and the German Marshall Fund of the United States. The network’s first meeting took place between 29 January and 2 February 2018 in Switzerland, the second one is planned for January 2019 in Berlin.
The nccr – on the move financially supports the Swiss Network of Young Migration Scholars (SNyMS), a non-profit forum that was created in 2014 with the goal of promoting the debate and functioning as a public resource within the field of migration.
Further education activities impulsed by our doctoral and postdoctoral fellows may be eligible for a sponsorship.
Career Development
The career development support, be that on an individual basis or on a group basis, is vital to both doctoral students and PostDocs. The Education and Careers Officer provides the fellows with individual support and counseling in the identification of their professional goals – within or outside academia– and their positioning in the market with their individual profiles. Exchanges with our stakeholders and alumnae and alumni are promoted. All fellows, whether doctoral students or more advanced researchers, are encouraged to think early about their professional future orientation – and to build on the skills in which they excel, and which are most demanded in the academic and professional markets.
The Education, Careers and Equal Opportunities Officer of the nccr – on the move supports doctoral and postdoctoral fellows with their applications to the available resources for young parents, when the circumstance applies, or to programs to foster female talents in academia.
