Leandros Fischer is a Lecturer at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo in Cyprus. He holds an MA in Social Anthropology and a Ph.D. in Political Science. His research interests include critical migration studies, critical citizenship studies, as well as social and political movements. He has especially focussed on migration and mobility on the island of Cyprus, interrogating the phenomenon in conjunction with the island’s ongoing conflict, economic crisis, and postcoloniality. His edited volume The Crisis-Mobility Nexus (Palgrave) was published in early 2024. He is currently working on a project researching the emerging corridor of mobility between Cyprus and Lebanon.
