Tugay Durak

Associated Researcher

Tugay Durak is a PhD candidate in international higher education at UCL (University College London), very near finishing. His research lies at the intersection of international academic mobility, migration, and knowledge diaspora. His doctoral thesis investigates academic migration from Turkey to the UK. Tugay has held visiting scholar positions at Yale University, Boston College, and the University of Kassel. He has worked on research projects funded by the British Council and the Turkish Migration Research Foundation, and his work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Comparative & International Higher Education and Higher Education Governance and Policy. Before pursuing his postgraduate education at UCL, Tugay worked as a mathematics teacher in Istanbul for four years. He is currently working on the ACAMOB project at the nccr – on the move, researching the impact of NCCR mobility schemes.
