Sarah Progin-Theuerkauf studied Law at the Universities of Bonn, Germany and Fribourg, Switzerland. After her PhD in EU Law at the University of Fribourg in 2006, she worked as a legal clerk in the district court of Krefeld, for a major German law firm in Duesseldorf, for the German Federal Cartel Office and for the Embassy of Germany in Bangkok, Thailand. After her Second State Exam (bar exam) in 2008, she joined a major Swiss law firm based in Zurich, practicing in the area of Swiss and EU Competition Law. In 2009, she was appointed associated professor for EU Law and Migration Law at the University of Fribourg. Since 2011, she has also been co-director of the Centre for Migration Law in Neuchatel.
