Knowledge Transfer Officer
Julia Litzkow works at the intersection of research, communications, and advocacy, with a focus on migration, displacement, and human rights. She currently contributes to connecting academic research on migration with policy and public discourse, drawing on extensive experience in research and strategic communication. For six years, she worked with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in a range of roles, most recently as Research Officer at the Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) Europe, where she led the second phase of a joint research project with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on trafficking risks among refugees from Ukraine. She has also worked with the MMC global team and the Joint Internal Displacement Profiling Service (JIPS) on improving the use of research on mixed migration and internal displacement in policy and practice. Earlier in her career, Julia worked with Asylum Access Tanzania on refugee protection, and the Council of Europe, and UNODC on anti‑trafficking. Julia holds a Master’s degree in International Crimes, Conflict and Criminology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
