English Is the Predominant Language Among the Foreign-Born Population
The survey inquired about the primary language proficiency of the participants, revealing that English takes the lead with 29.0% of respondents declaring proficiency in this language. Followed closely by Standard German at 28.8%, taking the second position. French is third (20.6%), followed by Italian, Swiss German and Spanish.
Furthermore, a significant proportion of those surveyed say they speak several languages. When considering multilingualism, English emerged as the most spoken language, with 51.5% of the surveyed participants speaking it.
